Dopo averti parlato di nonno Heinz, che ne dici se passiamo al nipote? Il nostro apicoltore tuttofare? (dai Bastiii non ti vergognareee!)

Sebastian Gäbler, classe 1986, nato in un paesino della Sassonia non molto lontano dalla bellissima Dresda. Cresciuto immerso nella natura e sempre affascinato dalle api. Ma Sebastian, detto Basti, non é solo api e natura. Perito informatico, proprio per la sua formazione va a braccetto con tutte quelle cose che io non capisco per niente: informatica, elettronica, matematica e numeri in generale. Ma non solo, si applica spassionatamente a qualsiasi lavoro manuale, passa dall’essere cuoco, a idraulico, da falegname, a cartongessista come se nulla fosse. Un apicoltore tuttofare per l’appunto!

E da piccolo com’era?

Beh curiosissimo e vivace! Basti é sempre stato molto legato a suo nonno Heinz e sua nonna Eva, mi piace molto questo rapporto, pieno di tenerezza, rispetto e complicitá.

Quando era piccolo ogni settimana Basti andava a trovare con i nonni la bisnonna Hildegard (mamma di nonno Heinz). Basti ha sempre amato la natura ed é anche un gran curiosone, ovviamente durante quelle visite non perdeva l’occasione di correre per il bel giardino della bisnonna Hilde per esplorarlo in lungo e in largo. Proprio lí c’era una bienenhaus enorme (lunga circa 20 metri – ma Basti ammette che magari proprio perché era piccolo, gli sembrava piú grande di quel che era). Il bisnonno Walter (ricordi? Il signore da cui é partita la passione di nonno Heinz, come dicevamo qui https://www.gaeblini.com/2021/04/25/nonno-heinz-apicoltore-per-passione-da-sempre/) li aveva lasciati quando Basti aveva solo un anno, ma la sua passione per l’apicoltura erano rimaste nel figlio e nel pronipote, e insieme a questa la bienenhaus, non piú usata ma ancora curata e tenuta in buono stato da un fratello di nonno Heinz.

A una delle solite visite (siamo a un Basti di circa 6 anni), va a curiosare la bienenhaus per l’ennesima volta…

E che é successo?

Le varie arnie erano chiuse e lui si era divertito ad aprirne alcune, nonostante il nonno ogni volta lo sgridasse perché magari in certe c’era ancora del miele e potevano farsi le vespe.

La settimana successiva, altra perlustrazione del piccolo Basti esploratore e succede qualcosa di meraviglioso a parer mio: in un’arnia c’erano delle api! Quelle arnie che erano chiuse e disabitate da un po’ di anni e che erano state aperte da un bimbo curioso e pieno di vita, stavano ospitando delle bellissime api!

E dopo?

Basti super entusiasta corre subito da nonno Heinz per riferirgli questa ‘magia’, beh il nonno non ci credeva!

Pensava lo stesse prendendo in giro o che magari fossero semplicemente delle vespe. Va a controllare, doveva vedere con i suoi occhi, e ebbene sí erano proprio delle api: probabilmente un apicoltore non troppo lontano aveva avuto una sciamatura e lo sciame aveva pensato bene di trasferirsi nella bienenhaus del bisnonno.

Inutile dire che Basti era super contento e orgoglioso, di certo il nonno si era ricreduto sulle sgridate sul fatto di non aprire le cassette della bienenhaus!

A quel punto hanno preso lo sciame e l’hanno portato qui, alla casa dei nonni, per continuare a prendersene cura insieme.

L’apicoltura nel DNA

Basti ha sempre aiutato il nonno che a sua volta aveva imparato ad essere apicoltore da suo padre: una passione nel DNA. Un mestiere e un’arte che ha potuto imparare gradualmente, avvolto dall’amore che solo i nonni possono trasmettere.

Dopo aver chiesto a nonno Heinz se fosse orgoglioso di Basti, non potevo evitare di chiedere a Basti che ne pensa di nonno Heinz. La primissima risposta -e non posso che concordare- é che ha molta molta passione. Passa veramente tutte le giornate in apiario e d’estate che io sono lí sudata a fare niente, lui é li che prende, va, controlla, ispeziona, pulisce,…io ti giuro che non so veramente come faccia, no anzi lo sappiamo: é proprio la passione. Per l’eta purtroppo é molto insicuro e ansionso per le sue api, diciamo che la pazienza di Basti é piú che allenata. Sicuramente anche la sua passione non puó essere che immensa, con un esempio cosi.

Apicoltore tuttofare – come ci si sente tra le api?

Basti quando é nel suo apiario si sente calmo e rilassato. Occuparsi delle api, gli fa dimenticare le preoccupazioni e lo stress quotidiano. Cosa gli piace di piú? Il sentire la responsabilitá verso l’esistenza delle sue arnie, fare qualcosa attivamente per aiutare le api, per lui é una vera e propria soddisfazione che lo fa sentire vivo. Un processo che si evolve e di cui si puó prendere cura personalmente. Aggiungo una cosa io: Basti é una forza della natura e, sí, é un apicoltore tuttofare. Non si ferma davanti a niente e quelli che io vedo magari come ostacoli, lui li trasforma in sfide. Quelli che io riconosco come problemi, lui li trasforma in opportunitá di crescita. E questo é alla base del suo saper fare di tutto e di piú, come costruire un appartamento in un sottottetto semi-abbandonato in una casa vecchia di qualche secolo. Pazienza e forza fanno parte dell’essere apicoltore di sicuro e lui lo é a tutti gli effetti.

Perché prendersi cura delle api?

Ho fatto questa domanda a Basti, ero curiosa di sapere la sua. Secondo lui, é una sorta di vocazione. Quando inizi questo percorso, prendi delle vere e proprie responsabilitá nel curare le api. Tuttavia, non riguarda solo le api, anche l’ambiente. É un qualcosa di molto piú ampio e profondo. Ti permette di vedere l’ambiente da una prospettiva differente, vuoi dare anche alle api un ambiente diverso, ti prendi cura con piú attenzione e passione.

Suggerimenti: ricordarsi che nei periodi di alta stagione é un lavoro a tempo pieno. In certi periodi dell’anno (primavera-estate), devi essere lí, é una responsabilita che non si puó rimandare. É molto importante informarsi e rivolgersi all’associazione di apicoltori della zona, per imparare per bene e farsi seguire da qualcuno step by step. Una volta imparato bene tutto e convinti che quella é la propria strada, si puó proseguire. É un impegno che non va preso sotto gamba e non puó essere improvvisato.

Passione, dedizione, pazienza, formazione e tanto impegno…alla fine sono gli ingredienti per ogni buon progetto, non trovi? Qui i progetti che bollono in pentola sono tanti tanti, non ti resta che seguirci!!!
