Quante volte mi é stata fatta questa domanda, quante volte ai miei video o foto pubblicati su whatsapp o su instagram mi sono ritrovata messaggi ‘madona me che pura‘ ‘no no io non ce la farei‘ ‘ma non vi pungono??‘ ‘Quanteee! ma non ti entrano in bocca mentre parli??‘ ‘mamma mia che impressione! Non hai paura delle punture d’api?‘. Ora ti dico una cosa…tutte queste frasi le ho dette o pensate anche io prima di avvicinarmi al mondo apistico. Ho giá fatto coming out qui: non ho mai amato gli insetti. Tutt’ora sono il tipo che se la da a gambe se vede una cavalletta o che sussulta nel vedere un ragno (vuoi ridere? Nonno Heinz ha una paura folle dei ragni e, se ne vede uno, chiama nonna Eva per farselo togliere di mezzo). Questa premessa per dire che é normalissimo aver timore delle api, in particolare delle loro punture. Lo possiamo ben capire e a maggior ragione se si é allergici. Ma se ti dico che pure io avevo i tuoi stessi timori e adesso passo ore in apiario senza fare una piega…che é successo nel mentre? Non mi spaventano piú le punture d’api? Come superare questa paura?

Penso che la differenza principale tra la Cri pre-apiario e la Cri post-apiario sia la conoscenza di quello con cui si ha a che fare, ovvero le api. La maggior parte delle volte si ha paura fondamentalmente di quello che non si conosce. Se ti dicessi che l’ape una volta che ti punge, muore? Io per esempio non ne avevo idea, ma é proprio cosí! Il loro pungliglione ha delle seghettature, che vanno benissimo per difendere l’apiario da altri insetti che si vogliono intrufolare, ma se chi é nel mirino é un essere umano, la pelle é molto piú dura e spessa rispetto a quella di un qualsiasi altro insetto, ad esempio. E quindi che succede? Il pungiglione entra nella nostra pelle, ma rimane incastrato lí. A quel punto, quando l’ape fa per allontanarsi, il pungiglione rimane nell’umano sí, ma lacera anche il corpo della povera ape che inevitabilmente morirá. Tutto ció per farti riflettere sul fatto che molto probabilmente le api hanno tutt’altro da fare (ricordi? Sono laboriose!) piuttosto che trasformarsi in kamikaze. Se ti ‘attaccano’ vuol dire che le stai in un qualche modo importunando… non vanno a caccia di umani, per intenderci!

Paura delle punture d’api? Accorgimenti per non entrare nel LORO ‘mirino’

Ci sono sicuramente delle cose che le infastidiscono e che sarebbe meglio evitare in prossimitá di un apiario. Insomma, se non vuoi proprio andartele a cercare, meglio seguire i punti qui sotto:

  • Segui sempre attentamente quello che l’apicoltore ti dice, spiega e/o suggerisce di fare
  • Occhio agli odori forti: Non ti mettere quintali di profumo (nonno Heinz docet). Se hai sudato tanto, meglio portarsi una maglietta di ricambio – gli odori forti le infastidiscono parecchio
  • Mettiti una tuta protettiva: soprattutto se hai paura, copriti e proteggiti, in particolar modo la parte superiore del corpo e il viso dove ci sono parti piú delicate. Per la parte sotto invece, possono bastare anche dei normali pantaloni lunghi ben chiusi
  • Non piazzarti davanti alle entrate delle arnie, intralceresti il loro andirivieni – darebbe fastidio anche a te, concordi?
  • occhio al meteo: se é nuvoloso/freddino, se c’é tanto vento, saranno particolarmente nervose e suscettibili. Meglio starne alla larga.

Se becchi un’ape in giro e hai la sensazione che ti stia inseguendo?

  • Prima di tutto, mantieni la calma. Semplicemente allontanati lentamente, spesso bastano pochi metri
  • Tieni a mente che tante volte si tratta solo di giovani api molto curiose che ti stanno osservando, sono innocue, certo rimane fastidiosa ma in generale non iniziare a sventolare le braccia come per cacciarla via, cosí la fai innervosire soltanto, portandola a pungerti per davvero

Ecco qui alcuni accorgimenti semplici ma efficaci! Non c’é bisogno di averne paura, non c’é bisogno di ucciderle! Sei d’accordo?
